Bob Hunt is a RIBA qualified Architect and has been involved in development masterplanning since 1975.
Until 1990, Bob was responsible for the design and physical development of the then largest chain of golf hotels in Europe, (Country Club Hotels), many of which are now owned by the Whitbread Hotel Company and are branded as Marriott Resorts. The De Vere Group of Hotels retains IDG as consultants on many aspects of golf development with Bob acting as the Lead Consultant. Bob was responsible for the project management for the rebuilding of the Brabazon Course at The Belfry in readiness for the Ryder Cup.
His work has involved virtually all technical aspects of the industry, to include providing advice with a number of legal actions related to residential development in particular. He lectures on resort design and development masterplanning and has given several papers at conferences around the world on resort development.
He is responsible for the team of masterplanners, architects and business consultants who provide the range of design and consultancy services offered by International Design Group Ltd and who have designed resorts as far apart as Tobago and China, Norway and Cuba. As a keen sailor, Bob enjoys marina developments and has worked on countless marina projects around the world from the Caribbean, through Russia and into China.
Bob has acted as an international judge on resort design on behalf of the PGA and works with many local authorities on their strategies for municipal golf development. He and his team have worked on many projects worldwide including feasibility studies, masterplanning, golf and building design, management, consultancy & branding.
